As a new driver, few things freak me out more than an LED road sign that says "HEAVY TRAFFIC FROM CLEMENTI AVE 6 TO BKE". Driving in a congestion is really a sensory experience that will leave your brain curling at the edges after you finally manage to weave through the traffic to get to your destination.
While the car is in motion, it is important that you keep an eye on the brake lights of the car in front of you, so as to anticipate your own braking. It is also important that you watch the car behind you through the rear view mirror and not let it get too close, so that in the event that you should need to brake suddenly, it will not ram into your car and get you skinned by your parents. All this while looking out for completely inane bastards who have nothing better to do than to cut in and out of lanes, and fifteen minutes later, are still only positioned next to you.
While the car is stationary, it is important that you STILL keep your eyes on the brake lights of the car in front, so that you can anticipate moving off (unless you drive an automatic transmission vehicle, in which case you are a sissy and should not be here). You also STILL need to watch the car behind, in case you cannot move off properly and your car rolls backwards and hits the one behind. It is also important to make sure that there are no children around because you will be swearing a lot.
When you finally clear all the traffic, you realise that your eyes hurt because you haven't blinked for the past 20 minutes.
